Mesquite Dunes, Death Valley

Yesterday I was up and out at 5AM to start driving to Los Angeles for a few meetings. The sun was just rising and it dawned on me how much I really like being out there in beauty we call Mother Nature.  The best time of day for me - no one awake - no phone calls - just the deafening silence and quiet color. Of course I made a few images but mostly just enjoyed being able to see the day unfold....
 

Caddo Lake - Sunrise

Today's image is a re-doux of an image made last April at Caddo Lake. I try and make at least one trip per year to this location - Uncertain, Texas. Quite the mysterious location......when one is out on the boat it feels timeless and very eerie....

Fun opening and show in Carmel this weekend. Workshop could not have gone better other then maybe another day or two to cover the material. I am going to start teaching Photoshop and Lightroom next time I am in Carmel. This is very important if you are going to print your iPhone work, not to mention the more traditional files from larger resolution cameras.

Leaving Maine

After the long week in the John Paul Caponigro and Kevin Ames compositing workshop I was up and out early on Saturday, 530AM, looking for one last image of Maine. Ended up down by the dock in Rockland, Maine and caught this sunrise both with my iPhone and high resolution camera.
